No Left Turn Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is very close to where I live in central Gothenburg. The street here is Linnégatan (Linné Street) and the crossing street, where you are not allowed to turn left, is Nordenskiöldsgatan (Nordenskiold Street). We are looking north here. This is probably one of the most restaurant covered streets in northern Europe, restaurants everywhere. We are quite happy that the hordes of tourists haven´t discovered this street yet, they all go to the Avenue and think that that is the real center of Gothenburg. How wrong they are.

Anyway, this here is a tram of line 1, heading for Tynnered (arriving at 14:17). It left Östra Sjukhuset (East Hospital) at 13.29. It is also tram # 318, and most trams in Gothenburg also has an individual name, after some famous Gothenburg person. This tram is called Bebben after a local football hero.

I have actually taken a film from this location and uploaded it on Youtube, a couple of years ago. You can see it here. I took this film to show our to-be-daughter-in-law in Texas what Gothenburg looked like. I took several films of daily life in Gothenburg and you can find them all on Youtube, if you are interested. They are really boring, but you can read all the stupid comments people bother to write…

This will be my last upload for some weeks, we are going to Norway again!

Excellent tram shot from one of the two cities in Sweden that still has trams. Your POV is perfect I really like the bending street and rails. The inclusion of the lady in red is also very good and make it vivid. Good and vibrant colours as well. TFS and have a nice weekend!

A scene of life in a city very well collected. I like the good balance of the composition and of the colors with the blue tram on the left and the lady with this red shirt of right. Great prospect too and beautiful contrasts.

Some weeks in Norway? Have a good time there! I wish you a good weather and many magnificent photos of fjords. Nice view of Gothenburg, interesting architecture. Blue tram... earlier all trams in Poland were red, only wroclaw had blue ones.

Hej Gunnar,
A pleasant view of Linnégatan with some fine spots of bright colours. It's a great privilege to be able to step out of your house and find yourself in a nice street like this. Regarding restaurant density, I don't think you are familiar with the so called SoFo area (South of Folkungagatan) of Södermalm in Stockholm.

Excellent note. I am grateful to have read the note and watched the video (Utube), in addition to viewing the image. If I visit Gothenburg, I will know where to look for a good restaurant. The individual with the bright red blouse offers a good color highlight, as a counterpoint to the baby blue tram.

A bright sunny view from Gothenburg and with a well thought composition. The curve of the road gives a nice perspective impression. The blue tram is an eye-catcher, but you also have your favourite red here. :-) Excellent clarity and sharpness! Thanks a lot for the link to the video(s)! une ville qui me fait penser à Basel avec ses trams. Beaucoup de couleurs et cette touche agréable de nature avec les arbres bien fournis.
