Photographer’s Note
Do I mean the human animals outside the fence of the elk animals inside the fence?
Elks are surely on of the most dangerous large animals in Sweden. They are responsible for the death of roughly 8 – 12 humans per year, all of them in traffic accidents. They cause around 5000 traffic accidents every year in Sweden. The cost for traffic accidents with elks amount to 100 million Euros per year in Sweden.
On the other hand, human animals kill around 100000 elks each year, by shooting them! Then of course, they kill about 5000 elks with their cars!
This photo is taken at Slottsskogen in Gothenburg, described recently as the largest prison in Gothenburg! The animals have access to very limited areas. I really do prefer to see elks in their natural surroundings, in the large forests.
By the way, this animal (i.e. the one inside the fence) is called Elk (Alces Alces) in Europe and Moose in North America. The animal called Elk (Cervus Canadensis) in North America is called Red Deer in Europe.
The sign on the fence says:
ABSOLUTELY FORBIDDEN TO FEED THE ELKS
Here you can see the common Swedish road sign.

Oh yes, very dangerous, but I would try to domesticate them... both...
Smart theme...

Hello Gunnar,
Surely, the elks were around for a long time before the cars:-) An interesting daily life composition of these two ladies admiring the elk, whilst he looks on nonchalantly. Very good colours and sharpness.

Hej Gunnar,
The elk will have to excuse me, but the two Nordic blonde girls steal the show in this picture. There is also a theme of black items that play a part in the composition: pants, bag and sign. The elk comes as a picturesque additiion. Interesting note, too.

Hej Gunnar,
imho, "dangerous animals" are outside the fence, without doubt! :)
Very philosophic photo and the Note.
I've never approved of any sort of zoos and whatever "reservations" for animals, except for only those which try to save species which are now are faced with extinction - due to the "dangerous animals's" activity, though!
I agree with Gert: these two girls attract attention ;)

Elena

Hej Gunnar,
Snygga djur utanför staketet. Djuret på insidan ser ganska trött ut, men det har säkert inte mycket att vara glad över.

Nice composition and I like the bright colors the ladies are wearing. Good that you were able to include humans which makes this much more interesting. TFS

Hello Gunnar,
The photograph is beautifully composed, and the young ladies with Viking blond hair make a compelling pair of viewers of the Elk. Who knows what the elk was in another life. Maybe he was on the outside, looking in at the humans on the inside.
I believe, you were an academic. Were you at the famous University of Gothenburg? I was invited to give a talk there in the late 80s, but unhappily I was unable to go.
Warm regards,

Hi Gunnar, Poor animal. First, it is behind the fence and second, two Scandinavian girls took all the attention. This names of elks are indeed confusing. We have also elk - Alces alces living near Warsaw, in kampinoska Forest. But not so many and they are at large and it is difficult to see them. I haven't heard about any accidents and they are protected. and I saw a lot of elks (Cervus) in America, specially in Yellowstone.

Good evening, Gunnar!
Here the picture and the note area good fit! I didn't know that there are so many elks in Sweden.this one here doesn't look very dangerous at all. Yes, the most dangerous predator is man! An interersting contribution!
Greetings from warm and sunny Siegen!

Hej Gunnar,
A good note. Your numbers tell it, which one is the most dangerous one: the human animal. A well composed photo, where indeed the girls take the main attention. :-) TFS!

Hi Gunnar. As you infer, the two legged animals are probably the most dangerous animals on earth! Nice catch, good use of colour for composition and excellent sharpness and detail. Nice work and thanks for sharing.
Have a good weekend, Paul.
