I took this picture at an ongoing photo exhibition at the Gothenburg Museum of Art and the Hasselblad Center.
The name of the exhibition is “Between Realities, Photography in Sweden 1970 – 2000”.
A woman is looking at the photos by Anders Kristensson (born 1958) and the titles of the three photos are, from left
1. Mattsson Family, B&W Hypermarket Gothenburg, 1992
2. Halmstad Gang, Gothenburg, 1992
3. German Young Communists, Hallandsåsen, 1993
The photos belong to a series “Portrait from an Unpopulated Country”.
As a member of TE I can make some comments here. In Anders Kristensson´s picture, people are the main subjects. These pictures are not mere postcards, they tell us interesting stories with political contents. There is a clever use of red eye-catchers in all his pictures.

You are right about the clever use of red, something that you tend to employ. I have noticed the girl's red socks.
You have turned the viewing of photographs into a new photograph which is interesting, sharp and very well composed.
Can you imagine, at some point, having an exhibition of your own, where someone takes a photograph of a person viewing your shot, of this lady viewing Kristensson's shot. It could go on forever!
Have a great week,

Good natural colors.
Have a nice day

I am guessing given his use of red that Anders Kristensson is one of your photographic heroes. The shot is well composed with the lady placed on left of frame allowing the viewer to move naturally across from left to right taking in each of the three pictures. Very well exposed and with excellent colours and clarity.

Hello Gunnar - Nicely managed work here, the details of the three photographs is nice ad clean and we can get a good idea of what you could see in the 'flesh'. The photographs look interesting and I shall do a search to learn something more of the photographer.
Good framing here with the figure well placed within the shot allowing us to see what has caught her eye.

That's what I also like much ; to observe gallery visitors and capture them.
From time to time I do it in the Art's Gallery of my daughter and often you get brilliant results. Here specially your light management is great.
On the other hand it reminds me to early seventies where my dream was to own a Hasselblad camera but then I made my decisison towards am Asahi Pentax 6x7 ; which is now in it's aluminium case and most probably shall land soon in a museum !!
TFS and best regards

I think that every picture must have a background.
A picture must speak without words.
This is really it nice of a good picture.
Father, mother and three children is the most beautiful picture of these three pictures
Excellent composition, nice presentation too.
Very well done, TFS.

you are offering us a glimpse of Anders Kristensson's work in a respectful and effective way. We can also study his fine photographs like the visitor, discreetly placed at the side of your frame. You have retained the sharpness and depth of the artist's photos and have made clear the importance of the "red eye-catchers" in holding the viewer's interest and enhancing the narration. I like the chance we get to associate the three photographs. A touch of red has sneaked onto the socks of the viewer:) Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

a nice frame is here from the art exhibition. Like your composition with the onlooker at left. Three nice pieces of frames in wall are also interesting. Enjoyable presentation. Tfs.

The photo viewer could be one of the subjects, making for life imitating art. Sharp resolution provides details of all 3 photos exhibited.
PS: Owachomo Natural Bridge is 55 meters (180') long with a thickness of only 3 meters (9').

Good evening Gunnar,
Taking a photo of the on-looker at the art display, is a good idea - wonder if the lady was aware of the camera presence.
As for the subject of the pictures hang on the wall, I'd be more ambivalent, as I am not a fan of political issues in general, but this is my personal preferences.
The photo is superbly made, with the fine light indoor's and the good clarity.

Very nice capture of this moment with this lady enjoying the works of arts. I like those kind photograph being displayed. Diane Arbus a noted photographer in the 30s is famous for this kind of photo. Well done, tfs.

An interesting note - and I strongly suspect that Anders Kristensson has been studying your photographs - that clever use of the red eye-catchers must have been learned from somewhere!
In fact, each of these three photographs looks as though it would be really interesting to view close up, which is probably why this young lady seems so intrigued when studying them. You have caught her and the gallery of pictures perfectly in a very well thought out composition.
Lovely light and colours, perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness. Interestingly, because the light was a little low, you have used ISO 800 and there's not a trace of "noise" in this shot: you certainly wouldn't have got away with that so well with your old G10 - I find my wife's G10 struggles with noise at anything much above ISO 200.
COSTANTINO (51403) 2014-03-19 7:04
simple but interesting capture of this
exhibition the human presence adds life
the subject about people is the main
characteristic of all photos
danos (83083) 2014-03-19 7:28
nice the view of this section of the photo exhibition with the daily life of the photos to be the main chaacteristic of them.Really the red colour is hte eye catching of the scene and i don't know if the red elements exist phycically and don't placed from the photographer to make the specific series.

very fine contribution to TE. Very fine light mangament and perfect clarity. I like the shot very much.TFS.

The photo is a work of art in itself and a sensible way to take in an exhibition. Love the relaxed pose of the girl the way the exhibits faces are to camera and the contrast of the subject face being hidden. This proves that back of head can be just as expressive as face - but perhaps such thing lives better in one's imagination! I like the diagonal of the composition, the soothing light and colours as this shot tells an entire story at a glance...
Wonderful that way. Congrats

nice scene and reportage from Museum of Art. Interesting pictures. Good composition and quality of photo. Well done without flash. I like it.
Have a nice evening.

An original composition, this scene shows the exhibition on photography, capturing three pictures of the same, while the lady is looking at them, is a vivid picture of the scene of daily life, with the work of a photograph, captured by another ....
Very good brightness and perfect sharpness.
Have a nice day.
jcpix (11478) 2014-03-19 19:16
A compelling image, this has an inception type pf characteristic. It could also be asked, is this life imitating art, or art imitating life? Love the concept from both photographers, you've done a great job merging the two ideals with this picture...even as far as the inclusion of red from your "model." :) One staring at the other, I really like what you've come away with here, a smart observation indeed. Enjoy the new day. All the best.
kato (11630) 2014-03-19 19:59
You're capturing well this photo event by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's interesting and impressive to see photo exhibition in Museum of Art. Its motif looks like human life through family or mate. You catch a woman looking at photos by a good position. Nowadays, we look at a photo exhibition by here and there in city, however when compared with paintings, social evaluation of a photograph seems to be still low.
mcmtanyel (10543) 2014-03-19 20:17
This is an excellent composition with very successful use of negative space. Congratulations & TFS!
Romano46 (16578) 2014-03-20 8:34
Ciao e buona serata
Glint (6163) 2014-03-20 16:45
an uncluttered image that records the more peopled images of another photographer. You have provided an interesting note about the modus operandi of the featured photographer and some clues about your own liking for using red. I appreciate photos that tell stories and here both you and Kristensson do just that.
mirosu (12558) 2014-03-20 21:59
This is a beautifully conceived photo which works well because of the adherence to the Rule of Thirds and to the rule of odd numbers because odd numbers are more attractive to the eye, odd numbers are eg. 3 elements in a photo are always preferable to 2. Superb arrangement in excellent light.
Very well done.
rbassin (16320) 2014-03-21 9:53

Splendid Pov, well managed, Tfs,

emka (73365) 2014-03-24 22:54
Photos of photos is interesting subject. I like most the middle one. Funny how they travel. And the communists are really young. Clever use of red colour - was it your inspiration? You should take something red, and ask the girl to put on it. Red socks is a bit to little :)
Masterful presentation. You could also show your photos on the exhibition and be photographed, it would be fun.
Warm regrads MAlgo

Hello Gunnar, very good picture of this interesting composition in photo exhibition, beautifully captured in this beautiful image with good sharpness, nice color and light. Excellent and interesting job well done, congratulations my friend. Thanks for sharing this beautiful work.
Good night and happy rest of the week.
Warm greetings from southern Spain.

fanni (14377) 2014-04-02 12:38
that's one of such interesting (some sort of psychological, I should say) photos which always give us food for thought :)
You managed to shoot an interesting moment and chose a very good POV.

I have always enjoyed pictures and paintings at exhibitions, and I've enjoyed just a much seeing the visitors. You note is thoughtful and a pleasure to read. I hope you don't mind, but I am hanging this beauty in the group theme, Pictures at an Exhibition II.

Nice image of the photo exhibition taken from a good angle and POV. Very well placed the love visitor in the frame admiring the photographs.
Good clarity to help the viewer enjoy the photographs in the photograph :-) Looks like Mr. Anders is one of your photographic inspiration. A fine shot, thanks for sharing.

Here is an original photo. It is well thought out and imaged. I also tried this type of photo but without success. Yours is a success.
The commentary is informative.

I like the photo exhibitions too, but this composition reminds me my last visit of the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. Amazing title of the photo "German Young Communists" brings me back to my young years.;))

An interesting visual balance is conveyed by the pictures' horizontal display cut off by the virtual vertical line of the standing visitor, judiciously located unobtrusively.
Thanks for showing.
