Photographer’s Note
This is a view from the Crown Fortress, looking out over Haga, where this picture was taken.
The church is Hagakyrkan (Haga Church). The park behind the church in the left part of this photo, is King´s park, once a part of the outer fortification around Gothenburg.
Far behind, at the very left margin, you can faintly see the Lion Fortress. These two fortresses were also very important parts of the 17th century fortification of Gothenburg.
Far away, in the middle of the background, you can see two white high chimneys. The higher one to the right belongs to the Sävenäs Incineration Plant.
Right below this chimney, you can see the tower of the Catholic Church.
To the left of this church you can see the new football arena, called ”Old Ullevi”. To the right, with two white pylons, you can see the old arena called ”New Ullevi”.
This is Gothenburg!

Hej Gunnar,
a well composed and colourful scene rendered with good clarity and contrast. You've managed to create nice compositoon with plenty of different buildings and styles in one picture. Very good spring light overall, too.
All the best.

Hello Gunnar,
I find all these red roofs in the foreground very attractive; at the same time they make an interesting contrast with the green roof of the church. A well composed overview with good colours and sharpness.

Hej Gunnar,
very interesting panoramic view! But most of all I am impressed by the red roofs in the FG! The spire of the church (on the left) rising high above the houses "breaks" the "flat" landscape and becomes a very attractive eye-catcher :)
Have a nice Sunday!

Hej Gunnar,
You have presented here a really good overview of some important landmarks of Gothenburg. A nice bird's eye view with lots of red roofs. An excellent note giving lots of extra information also via your older photos and their notes. I was wondering why "Old Ullevi" is the newer one, but found an explanation in the net. :-) Thanks for sharing!

Hej Gunnar,
You have achieved a very nice effect from the dominance of the red roofs in the foreground. They contrast nicely with the park further back and the narrow line of modern buildings.
The Old Ullevi is so brand new that I would not have recognized it without your note. The half century old New Ullevi is of course a classic landmark!

Still no leaves on these trees, Gunnar! But their colour goes well with the red and brown roofs. The copper of the kirk makes a good focal point.
Sunny here today, still cold, but all the spring flowers are bursting forth.

Hello Gunnar, the shapes of the roofs give a kind of different geometrical effect to your photo, it is like everything consists of rectangles with sharp corners and I like very much this effect of graphism. The colors and sharpness are very nice and also thank you for your nice note which is very informative. Have a nice week.

Hi Gunnar,
Wow, the panorama of Gothenburg! Nice view of your city. I like this diagonal composion, with the red roofs I one corner. Spring has not come in all its beauty yet. In warsaw it is now fantastic, with magnolias and forsytia in blossom.

Bonjour
