Photographer’s Note

Hello folks.
This photo is from an enclosed pasture across the country road just outside our house. The ‘fence’ is typical from Sweden. It was very common for, say 50 years ago and earlier. I read in the Swedish Wikipedia that the oldest archeological findings are from 11th century. Now days it is hard to get people that have the knowledge (it’s almost a science!) of how to build these fences.
The poles are made of fir and they are tied together with branches of fir or juniper that are heated or even boiled to get very flexible. Well done, the fence could last for up to 40 years.
