Photographer’s Note
The other day it was the earth hour day. During 24 hrs people was supposed to turn the lights of to save energy and our environment. I dont know in what way it succeded but I think we all know that we must do something radical quiet soon. I my city not may people did anything. This photo however is not from the day, but it showns the use of electricity in just a small part of the world...
The photo shows a part of the city of Jönköping. Tripod, sharpening and remote was used.

olá, great night photo with a good composition! in sweden, like in the rest of the world nobody thinks when turns the light on. your photo is just one more example of that! and you are quite right, we must do something radical quite soon! change our mentalities is quite a challenge but it think that the solution for environmental problems will need that. i only hope that when it happens (change of our mentality) it will be not too late! cheers and thanks for your reflexion!!! pedro

Hej Stefan
well I'm not the suprised one, I mean Jönköping is not known for beliving in things on the earth, they sort have there eyes and belives in other directions :)
Around me it's always dark, but i think has mre to do with the lack of neighbors.

Hej Stefan,
It definitely looks like the Electric Light Orchestra was there, bringing on a show for the rest of the world. This is certainly a well illuminated city.

Hello Stephan,
With the looming energy crisis, these bright city lights may be a thing of the past. I am an amateur astronomer and there is a small, but growing movement by amateur astronomers to cut down on light pollution. Newer and better technology will still provide safetly lit streets and much less cost and waste of electricity as well as cut down on urban light pollution. Many kids raised in modern cities have never even seen the Milky Way. Excellent photograph and a very important message! Well done!
