Italian Road Photo

Photographer’s Note

This picture is taken between Torekov and Båstad, on the northern side of the Bjäre Peninsula. The road is called the Italian Road (Italienska Vägen) and there is a beautiful view from here over the Laholm Bay and you can see Halmstad in the distance.

Hej Gunnar,
what a pleasant, such a nice scene which is filled with warm sunlight. Peace, tranquility and distant blue horizon line with, seemingly, endless sea :)
I'd like to sit there and relax, too.
If I were you I would also include this photo in the category "Daily Life".

A charming composition of these children running towards their father and all set against a lovely backdrop. I like also the presence of the little tree with its red flowers. Why is it called the Italian Road; because it is reminiscent of the Italian Lakes?

Hello Gunnar,

I've been gently laughed at for forever finding triangles in members' photographs, but here is a fine example of how the triangle [with its apex at the top of the tree] makes for compositional strength.

The running children, and the interchange of eye contact between them and their father, add a dynamic element too.

Your usual red, green, blue and white colours are sharply rendered, and there is good perspective provided by the haziness of the distant shore.

A fine picture.

I'd like to propose an alternative crop in a WS.

Hello Gunnar. A wonderful photo. It is arranged very affectionate and fully emotional warmth. The children enjoy their freedom. The stretcher belt lets assume that the father carries still another third child. The red berries of the ash supplement the picture ideally. Outstanding. Regards, Wolfgang.

Excellent shot. A really fine composition with little girl and boy have fun running around while their father seems keep an eye on them while admiring the view. Great colours and excellent clarity. Autumn is undoubtably coming closer. TFS and have nice evening!

This is very fine (and I do mean it). I agree with graffer about that elegant triangle, which makes this a composition to remember. There's a lovely connection between the children and their father, and I can almost hear their eager voices telling him about something spectacular they just saw (probably not the view of the sea). The light is very fine and the sharpness excellent.

Hi Gunnar, I wonder why it is an Italian road but the place is very nice and pleasant photo. Typical blond haired Swedish children (with red shirt :)) , it looks as the man has another child to carry? Nice sorbus tree. Distant view.

hello Gunnar,
This is a charming scene employing TE member Graffer's triangle in your composition. Peter (grffer) in his workshop as made the tree less central and I think that further balanec thr compo.I like the splashes of red, especially from the rowan tree.(Mygranson his named Rowan. The rowan tree is thought to have magical properties here in Scotland).
