Photographer’s Note
Ven (Danish and older Swedish spelling Hven) is a small Swedish island in the Öresund strait, between Scania and Zealand (Denmark). It is situated in Landskrona Municipality, Skåne County. The island has 371 inhabitants and an area of 7.5 km². During the 1930s, the population was at its peak, ca 1,300.
The island was historically under Danish rule, but it fell to Swedish hands in 1658, as the rest of Scania was ceded to Sweden by the Treaty of Roskilde. This was confirmed in 1660 by the Treaty of Copenhagen.
Astronomer Tycho Brahe (1546–1601) built two observatories here, Uraniborg and Stjerneborg.
There are four villages on the island: Bäckviken, Tuna By, Norreborg and Kyrkbacken.
Ven has ferries to Landskrona, and, in the summer only, to Helsingborg and Copenhagen. The ferries land in Bäckviken. The island is a popular tourist place, especially in summer. It is sometimes called "The pearl of Öresund". As the earth is rich of moraine, it is good for agriculture. Durum and grapes are planted here. There are public bikes to rent for cycling around the island. It worths doing it for a day trip...

Hello Pinar
The subject matter is simple but effective. Yellow bikes and a matching yellow house. I will remember to hire a bike if I ever visit!! Tfs, Marlene

Hello Pinar. An interesting and skillfully realized photo. Composition, light and colors are in the best way. The colors yellow and blue complement each other ideally. Very beautifully. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hi Pinar,
The thumbprint caught my immediate attention; this could only be Ven! And it was! Did you rent a bike to ride around the island? I have, and I can assure you that is is a very nice trip. Good colours here, very Swedish!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hello Pinar,
Great POV and lovely colours that you have captured here. Looks like lunchbreak of a post office (in Germany the original postal services are all yellow.

Hi Pinar,
Beautiful centring around these bicycles. You knew how to play with the forms and the shadows and use the colors of the background house.
It is a really interesting composition.
Congratulations
Diane
