The Turning Torso, the tallest building in Scandinavia, is so prominent in its setting and so striking in its design. What catches everybody's eye first is that the entire building is twisted 90 degrees at the top, in relation to the base. Santiago Calatrava, the Spanish architect, based his design on a sculpture of a twisting human form. The results are spectacular.
In this photo, a storm has moved across the Oresund, the sound that separates Denmark from Sweden, and is lashing the Turning Torso and the city of Malmo with wind and rain.
