Panorama Helsingborg

Still browsing through my archives and today I found this one, or actually these one, because this panorama view is a stitch of 5 photos. It was taken on top of the tower Kärnan in the Swedish city of Helsingborg, that I visited last time in September 2005.

Helsingborg is the second biggest city in the Swedish province of Skåne (Scania) with about 120,000 citizens.
Helsingborg was mentioned for the first time in 1085 in a letter from the Danish king Knud 4. den Hellige (Canute IV the Holy), but probably the city is much older. The city has often been the scene for many battles between Denmark and Sweden. The province Skåne used to be a part of the Kingdom of Denmark, but after a lot of wars, the region finally became Swedish in 1658.

The tower of Kärnan (The Core), from which this shot was taken, has been a part of the fortresses of the city, but nowadays it's visited by tourists (like me). The tower is 35 meter tall, but it is located on a hill as well. From here you have a great view over the narrow strait Öresund (Sound) with on the other side Denmark (and here it is also the narrowest part, only 4km), or more precise the city of Helsingør (Elsinore) with its famous castle Kronborg Slot.

Iis is always intersiting to see panoramas, escially if the point of view is interesting. I like the bay in the background and the colors, a little less the tower in the foreground which takes a lot of space in te image.

Hi Lars. That's a very cool panorama you've got there. You really didn't have any choice but to do a panorama considering how wide the view is. I particularly like the brick tower since it makes for such a strong foreground. Well seen Lars!

Olá Lars, this is a very pleasant panoramic view with a good inclusion of the tower in FG, giving depth and texture to the image. The light is very good and those clouds are enhancing the horizon.

Hé Lars,
Mooi Panorama. Ik ben ook ooit in Helsingborg geweest, maar da's al weer een tijdje geleden. Was er met een groepje mensen en we zijn meteen een overdekt winkelcentrum ingedoken, dus eigenlijk niet veel van de stad gezien.
Mooi uitzicht. Die toren zo rechts dominant geeft een mooie compositie. Mooie kleuren, mooie lucht. De horizon loopt een beetje kronkelig, maar dat valt niet zo op. Je ziet verder niet waar de foto aan elkaar genaaid zit. Misschien had ik de foto ietsje scherper gemaakt.

Nice stitch of this historical city with a good luminosity.
Very interesting comment.
But it's possible for you to have a longer picture until 4000 pixels for a higher definition.

Very well composed panoramic view. I like the tower in the foreground, perfectly placed over-seeing the view. It's always good to see the large version for all the extra detail we can enjoy. Well done

Interesting pov and pano compo, despite the blury effect. The clouds in the background are the part I prefer. Lovely light.

How nice this "little" panorama.Excellent view and perspective to the far but well seen clouds.In my opinion these clouds gives the beauty to the photo.Very well composed with the tower in front!

Hoe kan ik deze nu gemist zijn, wat gaat het snel op TE, bijna niet te volgen.
Uw LV is zeker goed, de toren is natuurlijk de blikvanger maar het panorama beeld heeft heel veel te bieden. Goed gedaan.

Hej Lars, wat een mooie pano met de toren in een sterrol. Perfect gecomponeerd en bijzonder aansprekend. Het is er weer zo een die me mijn agenda doet raadplegen om te kijken of er nog ruimte is voor een trip naar Scandinavie ;-) Heerlijk werk!

Beautiful panorama from Kärnan !
What amazes me is also the perfect stitch of 5 ( ! ) photos . The clouds and the shoreline is so perfect all the way !!
But , as I said , this is a beautiful panorama , wonderful lighting and a glimpse of the Danish shoreline in the background !

hi Lars - you had some fine weather here, with just the right cluster of clouds, I also like the inclusion of the tower, the small version looks a bit unsharp but the large one is just right.

An interesting panorama of this beautiful city that I missed while away in the spring. I like the way you use the tower to anchor the shot. A fine stitch job, perhaps a tad blurry, but the softness gives a sort of dreamy ambience to the scene. Well done.
