Photographer's Note

The river which gave Norrköping life and power, Motala River, springs about 70km west of Norrköping near a small village called Motala which is situated on the banks of lake Vättern, one of the biggest lakes of Sweden.

On this photo you can see one of the waterfalls covering a free fall of about 3m (out of 18m). It is the overflow of the bassin (Bergbronshavet) with the hydropower installation shown in my previous post directly to the right (90°). On the left you see the backside of the building shown in Holmentornet (part of the building on the left).

This photo is the third of a series of five about the preserved Norrköping industrial landscape. All photo’s in this series were taken in July 1997 and are scanned from positive slides.

If you understand Swedish you can find more information at http://www.norrkoping.se/norrkoping/industri/
