Photographer’s Note
I found these crosses along with about 10 others in the far corner of a neat and tidy Swedish cometary. They were all lined up along the back wall. I think (someone please correct me, if I'm wrong) that their descendants were no longer around and so they lost their space in the cemetery. I know that in Denmark families rent a family plot and when they no longer pay, the grave marker as well as the remains, are discreetly removed. This particular cemetery was much larger than the average Danish cemetery, but these crosses certainly looked to be the last reminders of these folk, after their remains had long been lost.

Hi Kate,
this is a soul touching composition with an excellent title. I am afraid that you are right. The crosses are just too beautiful to be recycled, so they remain at the cemetary(this is the case in Northern Germany). Your capture is outstanding!

good choise the BW for this subject
even when the familly are no more there the cross must stay to remember all the past and the mens and womens who live here; here the croos are metalic so they cann stay a lot of years, by us they are often in wood...

Hello!
Belle composition! L'inclinaison de ces croix donne à la photo un plus puisqu'on a l'impression qu'elle se rejoignent pour se prendre la main.
Très bon choix du N&B.
Bonne journée
