Photographer’s Note

A tourist contemplating in an enclosed garden at Varberg Fortress.

The oldest sections of this fortress date from the 13th century. The present wall were built by the Danes in the beginning of the 17th century. The fortress has been Swedish property since 1647, when the Danes had to leave. The whole area belongs to Sweden since the peace at Roskilde in 1658.

I've been away for a few days, and have a lot to catch up with on TE and TL.

An excellent "picture within a picture", with beautiful contrasts and warm colours. The open doorway provides a great lead through. Well spotted.
