Photographer’s Note
This picture displays another beautiful old door that can be found in Visby. Used a circular polaroid filter to save the colours from the harsh sunlight.
Where I recently inspired someone (which flattered me) here at TE, I joined TE as well to find inspiration. This picture I would like to dedicate to George 'Aegean' Pantoulas.
He once explained to me that he loved making pictures of old greek doors and windows, because they slowly are being replaced and getting lost... I admired his passion for saving these old items -some even older than 150 years- on film...
This summer in Greece I have actually witnessed this process of door replacements and thought about George and his passion.
Also Olli's eye for composition and graphical returns but mostly his ability to surprise us with his desaturation of colours made me try this.

it's beautyfull. I like detail's shots like this one you did. The colors are great and the doorhandle's texture is like an invitation. Well done.

Nice! Excellent detail of the old door, good color! I love the lines, the shadow of the polished handle and the way the light is refelected by the shiny handle. Interesting note - I will keep that in mind myself.

Very nice detail! I think you controled very well the harsh light. Composition is well balanced with the crossing diagonals.
Great textures and contrast of materials.

I'm coming to Sweden, straight away! making me jealous with doors like this...
But of course it takes the photographer's eye and idea of framing. Great!!

Your photo is magnificent: details, colours. I find the very original composition. Satisfy as well as you mentioned Aegean whom we see less these days, it inspires many photographers.
Votre photo est magnifique: les détails, les couleurs. Je trouve la composition très originale. Contente aussi que vous mentionniez Aegean que l'on voit moins ces jours-ci, il inspire bien des photographes.

Very good framing, texture and use of shadow. The combination of the colours is also interesting.

Somehow the meaning of the content in this picture fades away, because it is located nearer than we see it in everyday life... this is just a small piece artwork. It is interesting to see that this door is used - the handle is shining

I find myself attracted to close ups of wood and architecture like this. The angles of the wood and the starkness of the handle make this very effective and engaging.

Great composition. I like the different angles found on the pic. IMO, the pic is a bit soft. You have that ability to see things. Good shot Edwin. Happy Hollidays.

Great texture & colour contrast between the cyan & red. The angled diagonals also increase interest in this image.
