Photographer’s Note
I took this photo in this medieval restaurant called Clematis in centre of Visby town.
I had to take a sequence of about 6 shots because it were allmost pitchblack and the blow-out took about one and a half second, so i didnt wanna miss it. I didnt use any flash of course and this is the result.

Thanks for your comment David. Indeed one can still find many medieval places on the island Gotland. And such sceneries as you captured are not that rare in Visby around the summers. A great documentary shot, very dynamic. My only suggestions is to crop a bit of the left in order to decentralize the cloud of fire.

Wonderful shot! I wouldn't imagine how to create this composition this way, your technique was quite useful: Trial and error and lots of patience. Using no flash was a clever decision, 'cause you avoided to bring out too many colors and details to the scene. This is just the fire, the eater and the wall as background.
Surely your patience was rewarded!

I think this shot is close to perfect, if not perfect!
The composition is great, with the fire in the middle and the fire-eater on the side. The wall, coloured red of the fire - beautiful! And the structure and sharpness of the fire is fantastic. It must have been hard to get it so sharp when it was so dark and the camera requires a long exposure.
Nicely seen, well captured, great presentation!
