A Yellow Ferry Photo

Photographer’s Note

This photo is taken from Hälsö and shows the car ferry between Hälsö and Källö-Knippla in the northern Gothenburg archipelago.

This car ferry is operated by the Swedish Road Administration and as it is a part of the National road system it is free to use. There are many "road ferries" all over Sweden, all free!

Källö and Knippla used to be two separate islands but today the channel between them is filled and they have become united.

Hej Gunnar,
As it is so often said: in a marine theme there should always be a yellow element. The yellow ferry in the blue water makes this look very Swedish, and the village climbing up the barren rock looks very typical of Bohuslän.
