Photographer’s Note
This impressive tower is called Fars Hatt (Father´s Hat) and it is the northern tower of the Bohus Fortress at Kungälv. There is also a smaller tower called Mors Mössa (Mother´s Bonnet).
It was built in 1308 by the Norwegians to protect the border against the Swedes. The fortress also gave its name to the whole province, Bohuslän, which was a part of Norway until the Treaty of Roskilde in 1658, when it became Swedish.
As there was no need to protect a border anymore, the fortress was left to its decay.

Hello Gunnar,
Lovely textures and colours of these stones against the blue sky.
The curves, diagonals and other shapes within the image make a pleasing composition.
Sharp and clear throughout.
Do you think your Konica brings out the sky colour better than your Canon?
Regards,
Peter.

Gunnar,
Nice shot of this old fortress. Your composition and POV are fine giving us an upward view of the tower and the great sky. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail.

Hello, Gunnar.
A very nice picture indeed. I think that you now have quite a collection of these fortresses!
Very nice colours in the stonework and, despite the fact that the light was very bright, you have managed to preserve good detail in the shadows. Very good composition too.
Excellent!
Kind Regards,
John.

Hej Gunnar.
Good point of view of this fortress tower. Well exposed which gives good light and colours. The sharpness is also great. I visited this place maybe 45 years ago so I don't have much of memories left.
Great note and link.
