Photographer’s Note
The Bohus fortress near Gothenburg was founded by Norvegian troops in 1641 (at that time Gotheburg was near the border) to overlook the important Bohus river valley nearby.
The fortress was never defeated.

Hi Igor,
An impressive composition that reveals the strength of this fortress that was actually founded around 1308. A fine photo nevertheless.

well, I definetly can see why this fortress was never defeated, the point of view you have chosen nicely shows the thick fortified walls. also, the line made by these walls lead the eye of the viewer into the photo and towards the tower, very good composition. I have only two remarks - first, what was the reason for such a wide apperture? second, have you tried adjusting curves and levels in photoshop? seems that the contrasts could be increased slightly, as well as sharpness (I would have tried a WS, but don't have any software on this PC). anyway, this is a good photo.
best,
Kristine

An interesting subject, but not your best shot. The left half of the photo would make a more balanced composition - the right half is a little dull yet the gap in the wall provides enough of a distracting to provide a second focal point for the picture, drawing the eye away from the tower. I thought it might be a bit washed out, which can be fixed with curves, but actually I think it's the diffuse light making things (especially the tower) seem a little flat. I've posted a workshop that shows the crop I suggest above. And, for a bit of fun, I added some depth to the tower.
(oops, workshop limit reached. Tomorrow, then)
