Photographer’s Note
This is the Uddevalla bridge over the Sunningesund, about 80 kilometers north of Goteborg. It's a "cable-stayed" bridge, the pilons are 149m high and it's 1712m long (largest span 414m).
Taken in september 2001 with a terribly noisy Casio QV3000 on a terribly rainy day, one handed behind the driving wheel. The original was already almost b&w and needed a lot of contrast enhancement, which didn't really help the noise levels.
Even though it's one of the oldest digital images on my harddrive it's still one of my favourites.

A very nice composition here. I like your choice of black and white. It gives it a flair of a classical appeal. Nicely captured.

hi adrian! :-)
interesting perspective,
i really like the straight lines.
as a b&w shot this is superb.
the noise is there but not disturbing;
makes it look like a photo from the 50s or 60s.
well done,
thor.

Hi, Adrian!
What a fortune that you had a camera at hand! I agree with you that it is a very good picture regardless of noise. Have you tried to tilt it a bit ccw? Not sure if it would better it (you could loose the road), but maybe worth a shot? Anyway these shapes look great, and the smaller one framed in by the big one. I also like that the closest one goes beyond the frame.

Stunning compostition. No problem w/ the noise. sometimes i add extra noise through an an overlay layer set to 50% grey to add even more noise and distribute it better. Thanks for sharing a great image.
