Photographer’s Note

The cat was laying idle in the harbour, basking in the sun of the first clear autumn days. A lazy day for the cat, just stretching out it paws and taking things the easy way. Nothing else to do it played a little with the first falling leaves...

The last shot of my little srerie on the cat fast ferry in Strömstad harbour.

Nice and bright colors and interesting shapes. The picture is incredibly sharp as usual. I think a lower angle would maybe have been more interesting though, that would both open up the composition a little and give a horizon or something to put this into an environment.

As I just wrote a critique of your previous photo in this series I'll just keep on with a few words on this one.
Compared with the previous this one is a weaker composition. Lines, shadows on hull, ripples in water etc. are all fine but the balance between the different parts is not really good.
I would prefer to have either the water or the steel dominating the frame, now it is in between and both elements looses strenght. I think there are several possible crops here, right now there is too much in the frame for my tastes.
Maybe it's the very busy pattern of ripples in the background that are disturbing me.

I agrree with Torben's WS and his fine crop. But still I like the water reflections on the upper part of the hull, which may be the eason why you didn't crop it. I am not sure that I agree with you about the lack of harmony in these olors. It looks very attractive on my monitor. I like this shot, Ebbe, as well as the other photos in this series.

Very poetic. Brightness of colors are great. Very sharp and clear. Ineresting. Catching the look.

I'm going to join the party Ebbe, since this is the kind of image I enjoy, as you well know considering what I've posted the last couple of days. I read Torben's comments and noted his workshop. I read your response to him as well. As I look at the image, a different composition comes to my mind, so I did a workshop as well. These bold colors and lines are simply too lovely to be ignored. See what you think about this rendition.
