Photographer’s Note

As the title says a cat is involved here but no pets allowed. This is the side of the hull of the catamaran fast ferry from Strömstad to Koster. The tail of the "cat" has been loosely tied to the side of the hull....

Koster is a small island community on the Swedish west coast close to the Norwegian border. Both Strömstad and Koster are lovely places that are very popular in the summer but now in September are back in the winter sleep.

This is really red, Ebbe. Returning to the minimalistic and graphic compositions, are we? Well, why not? This is very pleasing (when my eyes get used to the red) in it's simplicity. The straight lines of the hull and the soft colored billowing lines of the 'cat' - in a perfect position - is a beautiful combination. Also the difference in textures is well shown and adds some drama. Very well done!

A terrific composition of red, Ebbe, and a very good light is involved here. I like the colors and the texture, the shadows and the very nice composition. But I didn't find the cat..

Thank you, Ebbe. That's another one straight into the theme group "red, blue and white". In fact, it could be president of the group. A beautifully sharp marine detail - and they usually work well on all of us (it's the association with travel that does it).

What a red color! The graphical impact of the rope is perfect : That breaks the flatness of the red color. And the brightness and sharpness on the rope is striking. This shot is tonic and in same time, finely composed. Well-done, Ebbe.

Very good, but I feel like cropping the lowest part out (dark red bit) as I think it does not help the composition in any way.
Overall, fantastic capture and amazingly sharp!
