I was walking down a track in the Stångehuvuds naturreservat in Lysekil (the pronunciation to English ears sounds like lisashill) to see if I could get a photo of the sunset. This person just passed me on his bicycle and I had to take a quick shot. He was going to check on his boat that was in the small harbor at the end of the track.
Shadows, noise and contrast adjustments in Lightroom 4.
A previous posting by Gunnar (saxo042) showed a small lighthouse (lilla fyrhuset) in the nature reserve. It is off to the left from the end of this track. see http://www.stangehuvud.se/Fyrhuset.htm
Stångehuvuds naturreservat is within very easy walking distance (5 min) from our Lysekil accomodation at

Note that it is very easy to place borders and text using the tools in the slideshow menu of LR4. However, when the image is exported as a jpeg slide it does not seem to export the metadata.

Hello Trevor ,
This is a cinematographic format and effect for this composition full of atomsphere . The large black frame adds to the mood . You've got the chance to have the biker at this moment to compose perfezctly the picture .

A very fine picture with a quite strange mood. I get a feeling of a hand-painted illustration more than a photo. Thanks for mentioning my own picture from this area. This is indeed a very beautiful part of Sweden!

it's like a film or a dream, and I like very much the softness of the shot, so appealing, and the whole scene where you managed well the contrast.

this is amazing. A painting like atmosphere and feel about it. An opportunist shot that has paid dividends and made a striking and really beautiful image. The light management here is just superb and the presentation captivating. My congratulations!

film, dream, painting... all the analogies seem to be correct. the "dark curtain" all over the scene and lack of crisp sharpness adds to the result. fantastic photo.

this is an image that tells a whole story. The management of the difficult light is outstanding. The composition is really successful. A great capture!
