After Skate Warm Front, a photo from Blekinge, Gotaland

Photographer's Note

Lister Lakes nature reserve outside Ronneby. After a full day of crisp sunshine this warm front came in just as the sun set. My After Skate picture is taken the same day. You can see holes in the ice in the foreground. Do not come to close!

The nature reserve is absolutely stunning all year around, but known to few.

Magnus, with a magnificent photo. I opened the thumnail for the wonderful patterns in the sky you have captured. But I also realised how beautiful and subtle the ground (frozen lake) is!

Again splendid view !, Magnus. I admire your greative mind - it seems to be so, that you have a bit artist gift ( menar "poison" på svenska) and you allready are photographer, not taken a schooling trip here, what was in my mind. What to say, I`m totally "takened" about your very fine shot. You can be happy for it.

Very lovely and special cloud formation you captured here - I like texture and fine light as well - the typically sweedish wood works well as silhouette - thanks Magnus - a very fine job.

Lovely sky particularly. Just a wonderfully beautiful sky. Now that I have started taking pictures I have noticed my look at the world and nature has totally changed. Wherever I am outside I am looking everywhere, up in the sky,... Every 5 minutes I see a wonderful photo moment. It's really opened my eyes...

Magnus,
The only skating we can do is on the artificial ice-rink or look at it on television (World championships in Moscow, today). And we Dutch do like to make expeditions of 200 km (50 will do for me), but the winter is seldom cold enough to make such marches. And you get as a reward this beautiful sky after a fine skate day. What a luck you didn’t have only your skates with you, but your camera as well.
Alas! It’s sometimes unequal divided in this world.

Such a wonderful foto! Mycket vackert! The structure and the colours of the sky are just perfect. The colours are so nice. It's hard to describe this picture, but the atmosphere is wonderful.
Only one thing: I don't like the colour of the frame so much, because on the bottum we can't see the difference between the picture and the frame. Well, there is a line between the photo and the picture, but it's hard to see where what starts. Sorry, it's just a detail. The rest of the picture is wonderful.

WOw Magnus what a beautifull picture: the dark forest with above it the last remaining sunlight turning the clouds into great colours. I gave your picture a second look and then saw the natural frame at the bottom created by the reflection on the ice: great detail.Very well done.

To describe this photo I think I can use the term "swedish carper", like Jaap you have here a nice landscape composition topped by a splendid sky using much of the frame, also the photo format suits, the warm tones of the disappearing sun are the final touch. Excellent !

Excellent photo, Magnus. The low positioning of the horizon was a very good choice for your composition, as it includes enough of the tree silhouettes and the icy lake to clearly establish the setting, but otherwise gives full attention to this amazing cloud formation in the sky, that is greatly enhanced by the low positioning of the sun and the orange and yellow tones emitted by it. The result is a serene landscape shot from this magnificent place. Congratulations on a job well done.

Hello Magnus a really particular sky, a very pretty spectacle which offers a a little repetitive natural texture to us, as if it were desired. Beauty reinforced by the colour gradation in the clouds. I like also the precise silhouettes of the trees.

Hello Magnus,

The low horizon gives all the space to the sky. And you are right : this one with these clouds, drawing patterns and reflecting the sun light, is really beautiful. The ice, followed by the nordic forest in back, gives the cold winter atmosphere to the shot. Well Done, Magnus. It's a beautiful nature photo. happily this reserve is little-known, and is therefore better protected :)

What a beautiful sky! the clouds making these repetition forms, looks really well. The light is perfect, the contrast with the black perfil of the forest is very well captured. It is a very relaxant view, I have put it into my favourites. TFS it, Magnus!

Right time, right place and good photographics skills. Great landscape, cold and at the same time warm because of the sun starting burning. You well managed to capture this place with this great cloudy sky over this frozen lake and pine trees silhouettes, nice angle to shoot.
