Karlskrona

Today I decided to post a new picture of the southern Swedish city of Karlskrona, that I visited last June. It's a view of the centre of the city at the end of a calm and sunny day.

Karlskrona is located in the southern part of Sweden in the province (län) of Blekinge. It is located at several islands in den Blekingska Skärgården (Blekinge Archipelago), the main island is called Trossö. The city was founded in 1680 by King Karl XI of Sweden, who also gave his name to the city.

Goed idee zo'n vrolijk zomers plaatje. Je hebt me op een idee gebracht. Lijkt me ook wel leuk zo'n verschillende kijk op de wereld van vader en zoon.

Nice, peaceful and colorfull harbor. I beleive the Scandinavians needs to use bright paints to compensate for the long, grey and dull winters, but these colors really become interesitng during the summer time.

Hi Lars. I've never heard of this place but it sure is beautiful. The image quality is high and the colors are rich. I do find myself wishing for a person in the foreground in or around one of the boats. tfs Lars.

Bonsoir, mon ami Lars,
Voilà une photographie qui fait plaisir à voir. Je n'aime pas beaucoup l'hiver (surtout en région parisienne, où la neige est très rare, les paysages sont tristes sous un ciel gris).
Je me régale de voir un si bel endroit. Un petit tour de bateau me ferait le plus grand plaisir.

Hej Lars, even nicer than the other. The composition is very pleasant with this pier and boats parked in foreground. Only after this we enjoy the colorful architectural scenery in the background. Excellent shot!

Hallo Lars,

U heeft een mooie hoek gekozen om deze plaat vast te leggen, het is bijna een drieluik beeld, de voorgrond met de boten en de dwarse toegangs pier, in de midden de woningen die zorgen voor de nodige kleur en blauwe hemel die alles zo rustig houdt!

The 2 strong layers of colour contrast well with the grey/blue of the sky and water. There is also lovely light and reflections to admire. Nice shot.

A colourful summer shot of this interesting city harbour area. I like the various layers in the photo, with the little boats in the mid foreground nicely breaking up the frame. The hues and tones are inspiring, with the tranquil water enhancing. Very fine work.

Ah! my favourite - boats. What struck me most is the feeling of peace and calm. The water is almost void of ripples. I like the rhythm created by the different layers of piers and the lovely colours of the buildings that meet the eyes. Must be a lovely place to visit. Well done!! Best regards.

Hier was volgens mij meer te bereiken als je het moderne gebouw eraf had gecropt. Ik denk dat dan de compositie beter had geweest, maar ik kan er ook naast zitten hoor Lars. Mooie pov in ieder geval.

Excellent view of this beautiful marina, nicely captured with the boats in the foreground making a good contrast with the colorful buildings in the back. Very good details and lighting. The composition and POV are great.

Good colours and many details to explore, the pier and boats as foreground interest add perspective...

Hi Lars,

Wonderful evening light and really good colours and sharpness. A very familiar and typical harbour for small boats in Sweden. Even if Sweden is not a densely populated country it is astonishing the you do not see anyone anywhere in such a nice evening. Have nice week-end!

There is a kind of mystery here : with the calm water, the "sleeping" boats, the lack of people... As if the city was asleep or empty.
