Photographer’s Note

Another unusual post from me.
White architecture from Alpujarra region. This was taken in the village of Pórtugos, but it could be from any other village. And for sure most of you will say that it seems from any other mediterranean country and I will agree.

I hope TE gets easier to access in the future. It took me all morning to upload this one :(

4 e bem juntinhas!!! Será que todas funcionam, ou são só para decoração? Seja como for, são muito giras e com aquels pedregulhos a segurarem os tectos ainda são mais giras. Tens aqui uma bonita foto com um controlo de luz magnífico o que possibilitou umas texturas perfeitas e uns brancos lindos.
Quanto ao TE, acho que só temos que nos sentar e esperar. Tem sido terrível, e então hoje está impossível.

Hello Ricardo, i like the shapes and sharpness of this image. I would maybe choose for a tighter crop to get some items out but still a very appealing image. I'm glad you take the time to upload it ;-)

Interessante a arquitetura aí. As chaminés e a vida de madeira sobre a janela poderiam ser em muitas regiões daqui. A fotografia está muito boa, tanto do ponto de vista quanto de eficiente ajuste de foco.

gostei da parte de cima da compo mas eu cortaria a parte inferior, concentrando a atenção nas chaminés e nos 2 cubos da casa na parte alta. Penso que a compo ganharia uma grande força (opiniões).. de qualquer maneira é um belo trabalho. gosto das formas das chaminés e de sua plasticidade

I thinks chimneypots are so photogenic. And this examples belongs to the top. So lovely archaic in their shape and so beautiful white against the blue sky.

Ehi, Ricardo... the four gnomes? Is this maybe for me? For another fairy tale I have to write? So a wonderful pic, my dear! I love a lot the four gnomes and I love a lot, too, the old home. Bravo. You know: the color is SO sweet and you had the intelligence to take a pic about SO a strange, but a very strange place. I love it, Really: I love it! You are able to stimulate my soul as a writer! Essa chaminés são demais, mas as pedras lá em cima não são perigosas? Acho que não deve inspirar muita confiança. Não me lembrode já ter visto este tipo de chaminés por cá. Gosto muito da figueira à esquerda. Talvez sem as portas em baixo também não ficasse mal mas está muito bem captada!

Olá Ricardo,
É difícil perceber a tua aversão a este tipo de foto, pois é evidente que as sabes fazer como poucos. Está excelente, gosto de como os "4 gnomos" (bem observado!) se destacam, com as "camadas de casa" à direita, a figueira à esquerda e (importante para o contexto!) as montanhas ao fundo.

I have lately the same problems with uploading and more with writing anything. Some time ago I wondered when TE will be overload with all these ugly images (even phone-taken ;) ) and maybe it happens now?

A pleasant composition showing interesting details!
Artistically the angle of light is well chosen as it adds a 3-D effect to the structures, and I admire the fine details...
The composition is well balanced, with an attractive colour palette!

Gostei bastante da foto!
O ponto de vista bem aproximado, mostrando detalhes da construção e a composição que a ela acrescenta detalhes como os galhos da árvore, os morros e o céu azul ao fundo, tudo fez desta imagem algo bastante atraente e cativante... enfim, uma bela fotografia, com excelente qualidade técnica!

and took me almost ten minutes to post a qritique, grrrrr... i always wanted to be an architect -and ended up being a durgeon lol- so i love architectural details... rural architecture always impresses me, and this is a nice detail rcrd... yeah, we have similar chimneys also in the aegean region, but not the same...

I remember the film "Amélie" one of my favorites... Oh there was a garden gnome in the film...
Anyway Ricardo,
You have the secret eyes to see the beauty in details.

A picture I would also be fond of taking.
The four gnomes ( They really look like ) and the rest of the architecture make the picture extremely interesting for those who are interest to visit this area or for instance a book of the region.

Three days to go until we fly to Lisbon. On the 18th: You have my portable phone 0090532 2336001 I am not sure about coming on Friday, because Ronaldo will guide us according to his itinerary: Ronaldo is an English speaking chauffeur-guide we had already met last time. But we can arrange a meeting on Sunday morning with TE members. How about the Tivoli hotel lobby, or perhaps you have a better idea. Not too late please, I need also time for shooting around.

Nice title! I agrre with you regrding loading on TE as well. I guess it has something to do with the 300kb limit as well! Good close crop to show the off-centred chimneys against the blue sky. I was looking for a human form in this picture, but couldn't find one ;-)

me gusta este encuadre en un plano cerrado sobre los detalles de las chimeneas, y esta arquitectura tan sencilla y tan blanca, que se destaca sobre el cielo azul y limpio de Andalucía. Las ramas verdes a un lado son un buen toque de color verde sobre los tonos tan claros.
El juego de la luz y las sombras sobre sus paredes es muy efectivo y da un buen grafismo a todo el conjunto.
Muy bien realizada.

Concorrência com as minhas chaminés algarvias, estas chaminés já muito engraçadas de tão toscas:)
Que material é aquele usado nos telhados e topo das chaminés para se protegerem do calor certamente.
Desculpa chaminés não , são mesmo gnomos. Uma boa fotografia com espírito TE.OU seja de partilha de uma cultura diferente.
