Sudoku ?

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
On one of the gates of the "Sagrada Familia" temple in Barcelona we can find this square with numbers on it.
Actually it is not a sudoku game, but an artifice of recreational mathematics called magic square.
A magic square should use contain the numbers between one and n2 (n squared) and these numbers must be arranged in a way that the addition of each column, each row and the two diagonals gives always the same result.
The "magic square" (actually it is not a pure magic square) of the Sagrada Familia it based on a magic square created by the painter Albert Dürer in 1514, in an engraving called "Melancholia". This magic square of Dürer gives always a result of 34, using all the numbers between 1 and 16.
In the "magic square" of Barcelona four of the digits were reduced by one. It always gives so the total addition of 33, which was the age of Christ when he died. This is not a pure magic square because the numbers 10 and 14 are used twice and the numbers 12 and 16 are missing. |

Hola Clemente,
