[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
El Templo de Debod fue un regalo de Egipto a España (año 1968), en compensación por la ayuda española, tras el llamamiento internacional realizado por la UNESCO para salvar los templos de Nubia, principalmente el de Abu Simbel, en peligro de desaparición debido a la construcción de la presa de Asuán. Egipto donó cuatro de los templos salvados a distintas naciones colaboradoras: Dendur a los Estados Unidos (se encuentra actualmente en el Museo Metropolitano de Nueva York), Ellesiya a Italia, Taffa a Holanda y Debod a España.

Tiene una antigüedad de unos 2200 años. Su núcleo más antiguo fue erigido bajo el rey egipcio Ptolomeo IV Filópator, y decorado posteriormente por el rey nubio Adikhalamani de Meroe hacia 200-180 aC, dedicado a Amón de Debod ("Amani", en idioma kushita) e Isis. Posee importantes añadidos de época ptolemaica y romano-imperial (del siglo I aC al II dC).

The Temple of Debod went a gift from Egypt to Spain (year 1968), in compensation by the Spanish aid, after the international call made by UNESCO to save the temples of Nubia, mainly the one of Abu Simbel, in danger of disappearance due to the construction of the prey of Asuán. Egypt donated four of the temples saved to different collaborating nations: Dendur to the United States (one is at the moment in the Metropolitan Museum of New York), Ellesiya to Italy, Taffa to Holland and Debod to Spain.

It has an antiquity of about 2200 years. Its older nucleus was erected under king Egyptian Ptolomeo IV Filópator, and decorated later by the king nubio Adikhalamani de Meroe towards 200-180 aC, dedicated to Amón de Debod ("Amani", in kushita language) and Isis. It has important added of ptolemaica and Roman-imperial time (of century I aC to II dC).
