Hi Tan,
A very "moddy" image which suits the subject.....the inclusion of the spider statue gives it a nice touch.....overall a very interesting building with great architecture. I believe the cloudy, overcast sky helps this image.

Hi Tan, an interesting building that you've shot in a moody kind of way. The overcast condition adds to the eeriness of this shot. Good control of light throughout on your part with good reflections (even with these overcast conditions). Is that supposed to be a spider on the dock?

Hi Tan,

I have watch so many close-ups of this building, mainly from its abstract shapes, but I’ve never seen it in its environment. So it’s a pleasure to discover it through your lens, with an impressive reflection that doubles the pleasure.

The metal surface offers great tonalities of the same colours and adds a lot of dimension in your shot. Like you are mentionning, the diffuse light and clouds also contribute to bright spots and darker shades. Who needs a sun when you can get this fabulous result without it.

I like Guggenheim architecture everywhere, it gives many opportunities to photograph and Bilbao building is in my opinion better than NYC.

Hi Tan,
the light gives this strange architecture an additionbal effect of being outside of the world. Looks more like something from outer space. The only thing which is keeping this in reality are those houses at the borders. Very appealing shot with good contrasts.

Hi Tan. You mentioned in one of your critiques whilst you were away that you weren't having much luck with good skies, but the light and contrast in this shot is superb and imparts a dramatic mood to the shot. You have just proved that you don't always need puffy white clouds in a deep blue sky to create visual impact! Cheers . . . David

That's an amazing scene that you have shared here. It's very different from the usual great landscapes you are used to post, but I must confess that, while I'm not such a big fan of modern architecture, I find this museum-building at least quite impressive. It's probably also the way you present it that makes it so special.

Hi Tan,
Really wonderful shot here. I think the lack of sunlight worked in your favor: there is rich contrast and good shadows here. Additional sunlight can be harder to work with on Gehry's surfaces, especially if it's harsh light. Overall, it's a very dreamy effect.

This shot is quite remarkable for several reasons. One the POV and composition is a novel one. Second, the sky is quite different from your usual. I'm used to see deep blue polarized skies and was asking myself if you signed a contract with the weather gods. The dark clouds, however gives an even better impression than the blue polarized sky.

So this is the famous Guggenheim museum!
I dont think it is a problem that the sun stayed away, this sky is pretty good, and sometimes you get better colors in overcast weather.
