CADAQUES.
El mundialmente famoso "pueblo de pescadores", con aproximadamente 1900 residentes fijos, se autoproclama como la gema entre las poblaciones de la Costa Brava norte. Durante los años 50, el turismo se estableció aquí como en muchos otros pueblos costeros, pero, ningún otro lugar del mundo, de tamaño semejante, ha recibido a tantos artistas famosos como "el pueblo de Dalí". Matisse, Picasso, Duchamps, Man Ray, Max Ernst, André Derain, por nombrar algunos.

La bahía de Cadaqués forma el puerto natural más grande de Catalunya. En verano barcos y naves de todos los tamaños amarran allí. Quién desea ir a tierra, sin embargo, necesita una barcaza o tiene que utilizar sus habilidades de natación. La playa es estrecha y pedregosa, pero ¿quién visita Cadaqués en verano solo para ir a la playa o practicar deportes acuáticos?
La iglesia de la parroquia fue construida en el siglo XVII. Se encuentra en el centro y está rodeada por numerosos calles pequeñas que conducen a la playa y dan a Cadaqués su encanto pintoresco.
En el casco viejo hay una gran cantidad de galerías, talleres y tiendas artesanales. En invierno estas tiendas se abren, a veces, el fin de semana. A partir de pascua Cadaqués se llena de turistas y, entonces, la mayoría de los comercios permanecen abiertos permanentemente e invitan a hacer compras.

CADAQUES.
The world famous " little fishing village" with approx. 1900 permanent residents, declare themselves as the gem amongst all other fishing villages along the Northern Costa Brava . During the fifties tourism established itself here and in many other coastal places. A phenomenon occurred though, cultural tourism probably being the reason for it. No other place in the world with comparable the same size has hosted so many artists who later became world famous eg. Matisse, Picasso, Duchamps, Man Ray, Max Ernst, André Derain, just to name a few.
The bay of Cadaqués forms Catalonians largest natural harbor. In summer boats and ships of all different sizes are anchored there. Who wants to go ashore though will be in need of a dinghy or otherwise has to use their swimming skills. The beach is narrow and stony, but who these days visits Cadaqués for swimming or beach activities?
The parish church from XVII. Century lies in the center of the village and is surrounded by numerous small, windy alleys, which lead down to the beach and give Cadaqués its picturesque charm.
