It´s one of the most important universities of Spain. The building was built in 1883. The most remarkable elements of the building are the great central perron and the two lateral stairs, that play a very important role in the set of the University. The central perron gave by a side the Central Library, in the noblest part of the building, and by the other to the university Chapel. In addition to the Paraninfo and the classrooms, halls, cabinets, etc. were built more than 250 single rooms for "the internal" students. The building is in the right side of the Nervion River, opposite the Guggenheim Museum. (Scanned picture)


Es una de las universidades más importantes de España. El edificio se empezó a construir en
1883. Entre los elementos más destacables del edificio resaltan la gran escalinata central y las dos escaleras laterales, que desempeñan un papel muy importante en el conjunto de la
Universidad. La escalinata central daba por un lado a la Biblioteca Central, en la parte más noble del edificio, y por el otro a la Capilla universitaria. Además del Paraninfo y de las aulas, se edificaron salones, gabinetes, etc. y más de 250 habitaciones individuales para los alumnos "internos".
