A nice week-end in Andalusia where I visited Sevilla and Cordoba with my wife and two friends.
This is the Mesquita of Cordoba, an Arabo-Andalus mosquee erected in 785 AD which was turned into a cathedral in the XVIth century.
I was impressed by the presence of oranges in the "Patio de los Naranjos" at that time of the year so I tried to build a composition including them (fill-in flash) and the main tower of the mosquee. This 93 m high tower is also called "Torre del Alminar".
Inside the Mosquee (cathedral now...) you can find an amazing forest of 850 columns which create wonderful perspective effect with red and white tones.

It's a special angle and a very nice composition of this famous tower, Steven, and thanks for the note. B/W is an interesting chice, though I'm sure that it should be beautiful in colors as well.

This is a very good choice to include these oranges in the foreground, as it gives a complementary idea of the mood of this place. Godd choice also to balance the tower with the palm tree.
It is very good, but I am also wondering what it would look like in colours.

Très belle composition, avec un bon jeu de perpectives. Le N&B ajoute à l'ambiance de la photo.

The black and white works well here. Also an interesting POV and an attractive photo.

I love this. These high structures present always a challenge to the photographer. Being in love with architectural photos I found myself battling trying to fit scenes like this. You coped with it quite well. I love the vertical palm tree against the diagonal main subject. The sky adds an extra touch to fill the picture and that small branch on the left upper corner is a tiny touch of magic. Probably, most of us would have cropped it, but I love the way it is. Perfect sharpness and strong black and white. Thanks, I really learned a lot from this photo.

down to the bare simplicity of b/w... quite a surprising choice for colourful Andalucia, but nonetheles a good tonal range and composition!
Can't wait to see the rest,

Nice angle. You've done a very good composition. The convertion to BW looked good also, full of shadows and contrast. Well done.
