Photographer's Note

The little town Tarifa is situated at the most southern point of the European mainland and separates geographically the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.

13km of the Straight of Gibraltar separate Tarifa and the African continent, so that the rocky summits of the Moroccan Riff Mountains seem to be close at hand.

It only took a few years for kite surfing to invade Tarifa. In summer the sky above the beach is coloured with up to 600 kites. Thanks to the many kilometres of beach there is plenty of room for everyone. Beginners will find excellent learning conditions since the beach is wide enough to start and land the kite.
