Photographer’s Note
A shot of the Monastery of Montserrat (or Montserrat Abbey) and the Montserrat mountain in the background. I just wanted to include both in the same shot and also loved teh color of teh sky.
"Montserrat is a mountain near Barcelona, in Catalonia, in Spain. It is the site of a Benedictine abbey, which hosts the Virgin of Montserrat sanctuary and which is identified by some with the location of the Holy Grail in Arthurian myth.
The name "Montserrat" literally means "jagged mountain" and is used because of the peculiar aspect of the edifice, which is visible from a great distance. It is composed of strikingly pink conglomerate, a form of sedimentary rock. It is very popular with climbers.
The abbey can be reached by road, or by the Montserrat Rack Railway from Monistrol in the valley below, which in turn can be reached by Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya train from Barcelona's Plaça d'Espanya station. From the abbey a funicular railway goes up to the top of the mountain, where there are various abandoned hovels in the cliff faces that were previously the abodes of reclusive monks."

Hi Yvonne, nice PoV showing the building surrounded by the rocks looks a bit brught but Im looking at it on an lcd screen I m not used to so maybe it s not overexposed just a bad screen, you have a bit of pixellation creatd by compression above the rocks, not too bad. Cheers JY

Hello Yvonne!
The Abbey is located at a really impressive spot with those huge boulders and shapely rocks forming the mountainous background.
I agree with PixelTerror; there is some noise here and there, maybe due to compression. I too am looking at your picture on an LCD screen and these screens can really distort things.
Otherwise, this is a lovely capture with a nice POV and DOV.

Hi Yvonne,
Very good composition with the building surrounding by rocks. The architecture of the buildings look perfect with buildings and it's surraunding area made by human if compare with crude rounded rocks... Very nice colors and light. Good shot, BRAVO!
With BEST regards,

Hi Yvonne, pretty shot of this landmark and its eerie natural context. In my monitor I don't see significant noise, but there's a little distracting tilt. Regards, Daniel

Hello Yvonne,
This is a place I've heard about. but I don't think I'd ever actually seen any pictures of this place before. The setting with the mountains in the background is spectacular and the Monastery seems huge. I like the way you've managed to capture both in the same picture and also leaving out most of the road and railways at the bottom. Great light and a beautiful sky!
I wish you Happy Easter holidays!

Hello Yvonne,
I find here another pretty shot, of Montserrat Monastery. The setting is fantastic but so is the picture. I would have arranged the perspective slightly, and make a bit darker on PS. But these are small details.
Many thanks - Izzet
