Photographer’s Note

This is the third picture of the T4 I post here. I hope you also enjoy this one.
What you see is the ceiling of the main T4 building. It is made out of bamboo sticks and steel and it emulates waves. In the upper of each wave there are lot of bull eyes that can be adapted to let the natural light come inside the building. I find it a great idea.
The picture was taken 2 days ago inside T4 (Terminal Building #4) in Madrid Airport. There is also a satellite building called T4s.
Its cutting edge design and the use of state-of-the-art technologies renders it the major civil airport construction project in Europe in recent years.
The buildings (T4 & T4s) are designed by Antonio Lamela and Richard Rogers.
The new terminal has a capacity to handle 35 million passengers a year, more than 10,000 during peak hours.
The Satellite Building -the T4S- has been built to enable more efficient international boarding and disembarking operations in the new T4 and it has more than 26 aircraft stands with air-bridge access. It is located between the runways and its architectural style and cutting-edge design are identical to those of the new terminal.
