While I was on top of one hill, looking east there was another hill covered in almond trees blossoming in white and lilac (who can explain the difference between almonds with white and those with lilac coloured petals?)

The morning sun was just coming over that hill brow, hence long shadows on the hillside opposite. Quite extraordinary natural occurrence, don't you think?

A refreshing add to your series with the blossoming almond trees, Robi. Interesting twist to have this "aerial" perspective in which the long shadows indeed deliver a nice treat. Some additional contrast or brightness might be nice for this one; thinking about the darkness in the upper left area in particular.

This is an amazing shot! It doesn't really show that well in the thumbnail, but the prespective is great. I can't recall seeing a shot like this before. The framing is excellent, leaving a corner of this hillside and the almost straight down look at the oppostite hillside. The lighting is great too, coming almost straight from the side. Wow!

Well, we seem to have the same taste Robert.
Excellent POV and just wow.

And the sunlight falling down to the trees and the shadows, amazing shot.

Hi Rob,
Extraordinary indeed! The bird's eye view is amazing. What a dichotomy between the foreground colours, shape and textures and the main scene below. It as if you are peering into a secret world, perhaps that of Alice in Wonderland. I just want to wander about this secret orchard and smell the scent of the blossoms, enjoying the shadows and light. First rate, Rob.

Hi Robi
This is a really unusual and effective viewpoint, I like the squares and lines formed by the Almond trees, viewed from above and the long shadows they cast on the ground. The diagonal formed by the hill at bottom left is a really nice touch.
Well done
Peter

Looks like the invasion of the dust bunnies ;) - unusual and effective :)

Hi Robi. It looks like spring is moving right along for you. It's nice to see some signs of life in the middle of winter. You have captured a pleasing interaction between the light and shadows. Nice shot!

Robert I went through your gallery to find a photo to my liking and here it is. I love the low angle of lighting on the opposite hillside. You were in the right place at the right time for sure. It almost looks like an abstract with wonderful lighting. Good catch in this one!
