Tip: If you want the town below to be a better subject (greater detail).
Back up more if you can and get closer to the ground, and zoom up on the town and water below and focus on infinity (as far as you can).
This will give the foreground closer to you a slight blurred effect (macro) and this will give you greater detail in the subject the town and water below.
Also if you get closer to the ground it will increase the angle to the town below and the ocean and sky.
I would also leave the camera in the lanscape (horizontal) position for this shot in order to capture this affect properly.
It is impossible to know what is on either side of this photo and perhaps you wanted items out of the frame, in this case portrait :)
