Photographer's Note

In Burgos there are some of the most important rivers of Spain. The river Ebro and the river Duero crosses the province (and also some of the Duero's flowings).

But really the Duero is much more important for Burgos. The Duero was a territory of frontier.
In the 8th century what now is called Spain was a visigotic reign and was invaded by muslims.
The christians were then in mountainous regions where the musilms didn't go. Finally, the berebers that lived over the Duero were expulsed by the arabs and, then, the deep valley of Duero was uninhabited. Then the christians began to repopulate this place.
The river became then a frontier with castle over the river like this in Peņaranda de Duero.
