La Font de Prades

Prades is a village located in the North side of my region at 59 Km from Tarragona.
This village is very well-known by its red color of the stones in which almost all the houses are built, (like the ones of the church in the background of the image), and also for its fountain, the one you see in this photo, very known as “The fountain of Prades” (“La font de Prades” in Catalan Language).
This spherical fountain, is from the Renaissance style.
In summer, here there is a celebration, that makes to leave "Catalan Cava" (derivative of frothy wines, similar to the French Champagne), in the place of water (changing the circuit of the fountain), it is very spectacular.
The red color of the houses also gives the name of “the red village” (“La vila vermella” in Catalan) to the village.

There is an equal copy of it in “El pueblo Español” (“The Spanish village”) in Barcelona, where there are some architectonic copies of several known things from all over Spain as an example of Art and architecture. Very nice place to visit as well as the village of Prades.
