Photographer's Note

This image was taken whilst wandering around at the Museu Blau in Barcelona.

I called it realism because:

Realism was a school of art that characterized the thinking of artists in the 1830s to 1850s. Such artists tended to work 'en plein air' (in the open air). It attempted to depict the everyday activities of ordinary people as does this photograph.

One could argue that it is this thinking that even today is implicit within many of the photographs and is the "ethos" of many of the photographers on TE. Clearly then, a somewhat dated mode of thought, that's for sure!

The world has changed and photography as an art form changes every day with new technologies for image taking and making.

Time to reflect on where to make a splash next.

Enjoy.
