It seems you are already bored with Sevilla so let's try with Cordoba. I saw many beautiful Spanish cities and I liked them all but maybe Cordoba was the loveliest. I stayed in a hostel just right by Mezquita and close to Juderia, so I could walk for hours in the maze of narrow streets between white houses adorned with flowers. Marvelous! . My tip - if you ever go to Cordoba, go in May to see the Patios Festival. It is something incredible, just small heavens. Of course, it is crowded but one can survive.
Of course, the main attraction of Cordoba iz Mezquita. You can see many many photos if its interior but when you finally enter and se it in your own eyes, you are just speechless. There isn't anything like that in the world.
When Charles V visited the cathedral built inside the mosque, he was displeased by the result and famously commented, "they have taken something unique in all the world and destroyed it to build something you can find in any city". Well maybe not in any city. The cathedral is also beautiful.
This is the view of the ceiling of the cathedral. On both sides you can see magnificent organ. I love organ music and and my unfulfilled dream was to play it but I have never any occasion. Pity there was no one playing in this cathedral, I am sure it must be fantastic experience.
Hand held, it was not possible to use a tripod.

A very interesting note and a beautiful photograph to accompany it!
Like yourself, I love organ music too - especially of J.S. Bach - and I can imagine how wonderful it must be to stand where you took this picture, surrounded by those great organ pipes on either side and being swept away by such glorious sounds! What a pity that no-one was playing when you were there. In fact, many years ago I sort of promised myself that I should take organ lessons but, like so many things in this life, other things took over and I never took the time out to do it.
Still, although you could not appreciate aural pleasure, you had visual pleasure and you have shared that with us today! This is a beautifully symmetrical composition (as your title tells us) and the lighting here is magnificent, bringing out all the wonderfully rich colours of the interior of this cathedral. And the details and sharpness, when viewed at full size of 1200 pixels wide, are exquisite.

Il faut avoir un cou très solide pour visiter les cathédrales européennes et admirer ces petites merveilles. La symétrie est parfaite ainsi que la gestion de la lumière.

What amazing and exquisite details. The more I see, the more I get drawn into the picture. Its the detail in the far end in golden, which appeals to me most..I believe the organ is to the left...
Fantastic picture with great clarity and a fine note!

Hello Mala (!)
This is an admirable interior shot and I wonder just how you get the light so nicely balanced and the details so crisp. I need some lessons from you. What a stunning amount of decorative detail and attractive colour management. An amazing place and a fine piece of photography.
Have a good evening

Fascinating interior of the Cordoba cathedral, the view of the main dome reveals art relief covering every inch, with elegant colonnade arches supporting it. Then the golden art relief over the altar is different and magnificent. Hardly a boring achievement.
And I am not bored with Sevilla, and hope to visit Spain someday.
Thanks for sharing,

Malgo, it is nice to travel and to be able to speak what the people there speak...I was always interested in learning foreign languages so I can communicate with the people...
mój polski jest bardzo źle, ale wystarczy wiedzieć, powiedzieć, że obraz jest piękny

Your note breathes with the feeling you must have had on entering this place, and its no surprise why, what a magnificent view. The decoration is so rich and detailed, the symmetry perfect. I love this viewpoint which had made this scene so majestic.
THanks for sharing another beauty
All the best

you're posting photos faster than you can walk! haha
another beauty here, and to know that you did this without a tripod is pretty darn amazing indeed.
really like how the dome is set back a bit too, not just directly above us. In this format we can make it out much more clearly.
fine details and sharpness, well done!

Ciao cara Itchy Feet
Yes you are right, it is the jewel in the crown of Cordoba. I did not want to leave and seeing it with my own eyes is something I will remember forever. Wonderful symmetry, colours and light management. I know that the guards did not allow tripods (naughty men) so you have done very well in the dark conditions. You must have used you forehead for a tripod too ;)
Hugs and kisses

Imponujące wnętrze, prawda? Ja jestem cały czas pod ogromnym wrażeniem tej katedry i wspaniałego połączenia jej różnych stylów architektonicznych. Świetnie poradziłaś sobie z trudnym światłem jakie panuje we wnętrzu tego kościoła. Efekt jest super!
