ALHAMBRA
The Charles V Palace
- continued

... Of note in the palace are: the dignified and elegant circular courtyard with surrounding stone vaulted gallery; the octagonal chapel in the north east corner, a copy of the one at Aquisgran built by Charlemagne, Charles V's ancestor; and above all the two principal façades, that of the west side ('of the Emperor'), with a triumphal portal in severe Doric order above a frieze of military victories in the socles and that of the south side ('of the Empress'), in Ionic order with allegories of fertility and mythological scenes...

WOW!!! Such amazing textures. There's a special something about the combination of the colors and light in this photo. The detail is great and you made the carvings on the stone come alive.
Well done.

Hi Robert, very nice close-up, great light which highlights the exqusite quality of these carvings and the texture of the wall. Well done!

Regards, Christian

Hi Robert. I guess I've heard the angel's trumpet sound and come therefore to pay homage to your photograph... One more good detail of the Alhambra. The perspective is very well managed and I appreciate the simmetry of the scene.

Great use of lighting to reveal the details of this wall. Nice color. Very well done.

Beautiful picture. I'm glad that you not only looks at the whole but also shows us the details.

Well cropped indeed. The relief comes to life in the "low" side light.

Very sharp and clear - the details in the carving stand out really well here - another fine detail :)

Hi Robi. Another genuinely impressive detail from the Alhambra. Quite special light you had to shoot this one, and it enhances the delicate artwork in a very nice way and brings the textures to life. Perfect symmetrical framing.

Hi Robert!!!
Otimo enquadramento, cores, e definição.
A luz utilizada criou e preecheu essas texturas fantasticas. Gosto muito desse trabalho.

An excellent detailed view Robert. Good crop and the lighting is excellent to reveal the fine structure of that artwork. But again, the details are very well rendered here, impressive. Fine work, thanks for sharing.
