The Alcazar of Jerez de la Frontera (Andalusia, Spain ) is located in the southwest corner of the wall surrounding the city, next to the Old Alameda.
The Alcazar in Jerez exercised as Muslim fortress-palace , seat of power that ruled the city. Currently used for events and is open to tours year-round .
It is considered one of the few examples of Almohad architecture existing in the Iberian Peninsula. Currently collected in the monumental complex called the Alcazar and Camera Obscura , whose surface has been visited doubled after the last restoration.

From the eleventh century , its walls are preserved partly absorbed by the settlement of the first defensive belt , used as a stronghold and residence first of the Muslim rulers of the time , then by Christian governors who ruled the city. So that , with time , has resulted in a marked change in overall configuration .

Later, a Renaissance facade wall replaced the old way to the Arab baths. It was delivered by Ibn Abit , last king of Jerez Andalusian , Alfonso X El Sabio after the reconquest of the city.

Listed as a Cultural , Alcazar of Jerez is declared Monument, and so was published in La Gaceta de Madrid in 1931 . Which did not prevent them to be used as military barracks in Franco era and subsequently began to build inside a hotel.
