Good Morning Everyone,
A recent discussion with friends, who told me they were going to Barcelona, made me revisit my photographs from our visit there, wishing we were going, too!
This shot was from one of my favourite spots, the Olympic Park. I love to watch sport and it was with great nostalgia that I explored this site.
It is in remarkably good repair and, on a day like this, should have been thronging with sporting participants. As is was, other than a few swimmers in the Olympic pool, there were just crowds of tourists, wide mouthed at what was once Barcelona's Olympic spectacle.
In the b/g is the Olympic Stadium and the tall, imitation pillars, whilst in the f/g a wonderful, many-stepped waterfall cascades down the hillside.
Of course, today the Winter Olympics begin.
Here is a larger version.
I wish you all a great w/e, Bev :-)

The continuing bad weather offers no option but to have recourse to our archives:-) I like the point of view here with the gently flowing cascade offering an excellent lead-line toward the pillars. The people looking over the wall bring the scene to life. I like the pleasant light and the harmonious tonal palette. Sharpness is superb. Bon week end!

a topical shot on the opening day of Russia's Olympics. Love your POV here and the way the light plays on the waters. It does have a really Greek amphitheatre feel about it this image, which is clear and beautifully captivating.
Enjoy your weekend - B.
Battening down the hatches as yet another storm-blasting is waiting in the wings :-(

thanks for workshop on my last photo - I quite liked it although I would have a difficulty to choose which option was better. Yours was more crispy and clear and the whitened snow cast better contrast for the rest of the scene. Mine on the other hand had this tone of the afternoon sun which I especially like, so I guess it it just the matter of personal preferences.
Coming back to this one, I think you chose really interesting POV which determines the whole scene. The falling water adds plenty of life and dynamism to the image and sets lovely foreground. The building on the top of it has been presented in cropped format, but it is enough to understand how interesting the architecture is.
Lovely colors, not exaggerated but still vivid and bright.
Thanks for sharing and enjoy your day

DOF and sharpness well collected, Beverly, it was the first I noticed when opened the thumbernail.
the place is an intriguing one for any photographer, and i reckon tourists whose standing on the veranda are overwhelmed with the view, and some having a camera in hands.
Fine managed the two pillars "filling" the sky space on picture, and the overwhall view is "graded" upwards from left to right.
Enjoy a nice weekend,

Very cool place, and you chose a lovely view to take too. from the thumbnail, I actually thought this could be a mosque and that the towers could be minarets! A lovely place captured with ideal light and a very appealing blue sky. Oh how I miss blue skies :)
All the best

I wish I could be able to feel the misty water splash a little bit on my face :)
just think...in a few months that will be possible, but not right now.
and you're correct, the winter olympics start today, and Canada is again very hopeful for a strong showing.
I'm not so sure about Spain or England in the winter Olympics! :)
I like how the 2 pillars seem to anchor the scene, and they provide a 'filler' for some of the dead space in the sky too.
did you correct the tilt distortion? looks great.

A summery shot with a really lovely palette of colours Bev, I'm sure you are longing for the feel of dry warmth on your face! I think the strong lines of this composition give the image punch and the way the sparkling water cascades down the steps adds a very attractive contrast to the harder lines of the architecture. Stay dry and have a good weekend Rosemary

A very good perspective with these lines focusing at the base of one pillar. The two pillars are nicely balancing the long lines with the flowing water. Interesting architecture and note.

Nice photo of the artificial fall from a well chosen angle and POV. It creates a very good perspective. The tourists add life to the scene. The clear blue sky is contrasting the brown buildings very well. A nice crisp and clear photo, thanks for sharing.
