ALHAMBRA
The Charles V Palace
- continued

The original plan, a circle inscribed within a square, reflects the two symbols of earth and heaven united which, although there are precedents in Italy, is unique in Spain. The design dates from 1526 and is attributed to Pedro Machuca, although he may have copied Italian models and ideas. He directed the work until his death in 1550, when his son Luis took over. The building was largely paid for by taxing the morisco community and their rebellion in 1568 effectively stopped work. So it was that until 1923 all that had been finished were the structural walls, the courtyard, the chapel and the façades, but not, for example the roof. It was Leopoldo Torres Balbás who, from this date, started the programme to complete the work which continues to this day.

I like this picture very much. Very clear, nice colors, and good perspective. Good job!!!

you have a great interior shot here. the textures on the walls and floors are great. the ceiling looks very unique. Is that portion finished? I love the bending nature of this shot. great note too!

Hi Robi. Your Alhambra series is really well-made, and your ability to find so many original angles and details is remarkable. In this one, I like the strong curved perspective that your photo establishes, and the pleasant range of brownish tones with some soft light coming in from the right. Very nice.

Very good photo because of composition and choosed angle of capturing that gives much more 3D effect... It pushes me on the right side, even I want watch in the center of the photo!

great work here, I like the details and also the curve here, well seen and taken

Once again you have captured an image of this building that is outstanding - great original POV (well seen) and colours - well done :)

Hi Robert, I like your Alhambra serie very much. Very good POV and angle for this one, and an excellent light management, which reinforces the perspective. Thanks also for the very informative note. Excellent job.

Robert!
Very good , artistic shot of architectural details.I like here the light, very warm colors and the reflection on the marble floor. Your notes are as usual very interesting and informative. Thanks for sharing.
best regards

Beautiful the perspective of the curved lines. Very good picture.

Hi Robert very good use of the natural light here, the colors are soft.
The half round form and the cassette ceiling make it a rather intimate picture.

Hi Robert,
Nice framing and good light.
Nice curve.
Well seen.

Great curve with the arches opening to the left. Without these aperture the perspective would be a bit oppressive. I like the shining tiles and the color gradient on the wall leading us to the light.

Very nice photo Robert and well composed. The soft ligh is very pleasant and allows to see the architectural details. Very nice tones too. Very well done!

Oh que j'ai aimé la visite de cet endroit.
Très bonne perspective qui nous fait bien voir le travail du plafond et ces arches magnifiques. Very well done Robert.
