Hello friends and colleagues, today I present this photo of a beautifully decorated courtyard, in a house in the city of Medina Sidonia, a city of history, in the province of Cádiz, hope you like it, then some letters on the city .
The city of Medina-Sidonia is a Spanish municipality located in the center of the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. It belongs to the region of La Janda.
Is a Historic-Artistic and Cultural
The mountain on which it is located is called the Cerro del Castillo, which is the highest elevation of the entire western third of the province, from the foothills of the Sierra de Cadiz to the Atlantic coastline, allowing you to be spotted since an important part of the province, offering, at the same time, the extraordinary panorama of provincial surface. The city is oriented towards the Bay of Cadiz, which is why it is known as the Balcony of the Bay.
A small part of the municipality asidonense belongs to the Natural Park of the Acorns, one of the most valuable areas in terms of nature and landscape concerns in Andalusia. The term also hosts much of the route of the Green Corridor of the two bays, a greenway linking the Bay of Cadiz and Algeciras Bay.
The first settlements in the area of which we have evidence, dating from the Late Bronze Age. Found in the Cerro de las Madres a lot of fragments of handmade ceramics and some stone tools. It seems that these people were in relation to culture tartésica.5
Then takes place the arrival of Phoenician colonists from Sidon, which will found a city (with the same name as their city of origin) on the basis of earlier Indian occupation.
In the third century. C. Romans occupy the entire peninsula was formerly in the hands of the Carthaginians. Around the first century will build a new town center that will occupy the entire space of what is now the Historic. By Augusto César Award, the city promotes its former municipal status and becomes entitled Roman colony (civitas optimo jure). It was known by the name of Asido, Caesarina, or completely as Caesarina Asido Augusta. It was situated in the Province Ulterior Baetica, belonging to legal convent Hispalensis (with capital in Hispalis).
In the Visigoth Hispania was also provincial capital and episcopal see of the Catholic Church, then known as Asidona, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Seville which included the former Roman province of Andalusia in the diocese of Hispania.
In 712 the city was conquered by Musa ibn Nusair, commander of the Umayyad Caliphate, at the beginning of the Muslim conquest of the Iberian Peninsula. It was the capital of Muslim Cora Cora called Sidonia (also known as Arabic Saduna شذونة). Alfonso X the Wise recaptured the city on September 22, 1264, occupying the border against the Moorish Kingdom of Granada, which is why it appears in a medieval document with the name "de la Frontera".
At the time of the Reconquista was home to several military orders. These include the Order of Santiago and the Order of St. Mary.
In 1440 became part of the Lordship of the Dukes of Medina-Sidonia.

Ciao e buona settimana

I can see how you love to use archways as natural frames to your shots and, why not, they add interest to the viewers, and give a feeling that we are peeping into their homes, sharing their special places.
This is a very welcoming courtyard with its rich terracotta hues and waiting sofa. I particularly like the contrast of sunlit and shadowed areas, which you have dealt with very well.
My warm regards,

Great use of a frame within the frame and I love the areas of light and shade which structure the scene.
TFS and have a good week.

What a lovely looking attractive and peaceful looking courtyard. How nice it must be to sit in that chair on an evening relaxing in the Andalusian sun. Beautiful colours and clarity and the archway makes a natural frame for the shot. Thanks

I like very much the graphical frame you put within the frame using the arch of this original entrance. I don't remember having seen a glass front door of a house before and find this play of public sight and privacy very intriguing. There's superb depth and clarity, beautiful light and pleasing colours that attract and welcome us to this place. I like the decorative details and the way you rendered the different kinds of shades. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Buen trabajo. Me gusta
Disfruta de una buena semana.
Un fuerte abrazo.

Fabulous view through the glassed-door, Angel.
Well taken as no back-reflection from this.
The view through is a charming indoor's yard, nice shot into people daily-life scene.

I like the big overlapping fg arch framing a smaller arch within. The enigmatic face on the vanishing point towards the back of the image is intriguing. Good sharpness, colour and saturation. Shadow detail is excellent despite the harsh sunlight and exposure on the highlights has been well managed too. Tfs!

hi angel. this is a beautiful still life from a cadiz courtyard. the light was difficult but you managed it very well without any overexposures. colorful details are worth a close up look. you made very good use of the silhouetted arched door, creating a clever natural framing.
