"Slide down the bannister... take the escalator..." title taken form the lyrics of Siouxsie and the Banshees - Staircase Mystery.
A staircase inside the Palau de Musica Catalana, Barcelona. One of the most exciting buildings interiors I have ever had the chance to visit. If you go to Barcelona - go to this place and go inside on a tour. Amazing.

You found a nice detailed part of the stair and handrail.
Also the around opening is a nice addition on these picture.
Excellent depth and perspective.
This everything in nice colours and excellent sharpness.
Very well done, TFS.

Astoundingly, despite umpteen visits to Barcelona and surrounds in the last 40 years, I have not been to the Palau de Musica. Not that I can remember, anyway. I think you've made a stunning shot of this stair-well and port-hole thingy. It's superbly sharp, controls the highlights well, and is cropped to very pleasing proportions. Definitely my favourite shot in the gallery today. I can see this hanging on my wall. And I'm amazed that hardly anyone has stopped long enough to write something about it.

Simple subject, but excellent composition and great realisation: congratulations for this nice picture.

could only be yours this, so perfectly observed and presented in your own inimitable style. Barcelona certainly yielded some amazing opportunities for you, and you took full advantage and are producing some wonderful imagery. This is stunning!

bello scatto, un buon occhio e delle meravigliose tonalità, la linea diagonale divide i due colori splendidamente.

An interesting note which really encourages us to visit this place on our next visit to Barcelona!
Perhaps not the ideal bannister down which to attempt to slide, but this metal rail certainly is an important item in the composition of this excellent photograph. The sweeping curve of the rail, mirrored by the curvature of the staircase and the line above the railing, leads the eye from bottom left, through the picture and to the right. The large round or oval opening is a major feature too and is perfectly placed in the frame and in relation to the other features.
Lovely light, very strong colours and textures, perfect exposure and excellent details and sharpness.

the bannister is too narrow but the idea is irresistible, especially with a fine curve like this, playful and endless. If we abandon or put aside the idea of the long slide, the shapes, the textures, the colours and the effect of the light are enough to keep us in the frame for a long time. The cool tones are fascinating. At first I thought that the light at the window was too harsh but it eventually has a mesmerising effect and makes the window even more attractive and inviting. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a lovely evening,

another cool looking shot.
So you say to take a tour...is that the only way to see it? you have to go on the tour or can you go independantly?
as for the photo, the grey area on the wall reminds me of a stainless steel surgical counter!
and the wall has interesting textures too, easy to see and almost feel it too.
nice shot my friend.
see you around

Another original and spectacular detail. You sure have a profound way to illustrate the city of Barcelona.
Have a nice day.

A masterpiece of metal!
The light catches the surface, creating this burnished effect so attractively.
You have positioned yourself extremely well for the shot, the curved rail appearing from the bottom corner, the stairs fanning like a hand of cards and a lovely co-ordination of colours.
Have a great day,

Superb imagination and arresting - you see pictures where I am blind - and your shadows are still entertaining. You are certainly getting to 'grips' there with that camera. Love the way the image intensifies in the middle section with the lovely atmosphere that you have created. It's so well detailed and the beautiful shiny glow but above all I love the wonderful matured colours. Beautifully worked light and dark in this fine image, quite an accomplishment getting the exposure just right! Congrats.

If I were the right age and the security were not looking, I would take up this offer right away. Love the angle and the fine detail on the marble stairs. The mirror (I guess a mirror?) on the left breaks up the scene and adds excellent light to what would have been a dark scene. Really nicely done.
All the best

Wow ! I do love the tones of colours of the walls. I don't remember I had seen this staitcase. Great light management providing a special atmosphere, nearby dreamlike. Masterpiece !

This is superb and I especially like the colours and textures of this interior. The curved surfaces in this very well cropped image give a lovely flow to the composition. Even the burnt out area through the window does not cause concern in this particular image. Excellent work.
Kind Regards, Ann

Looks like a painting! The clours and the textures on the walls makes it really special. I like the pov and the graphism!

You and Serghei certainly have a knack for music references to go along with your pictures! :) I'm embarrassed that it's taken me this long to finally write, I've been following your work for quite some time now...and might I say, impressive!
This one kind of jumped of the page at me tonight, the strong silver and gold coloring to go along with the textures is fantastic. And if that's not enough, the shapes and pattern are outstanding. You have a great eye for composition! Enjoy the day ahead. Take care.
