Hello friends and colleagues, today I present this typical city street of Medina Sidonia, a city in the province of Cádiz in history, hope you like it, then some letters on the city.
The city of Medina-Sidonia is a Spanish municipality located in the center of the province of Cádiz, Andalusia. It belongs to the region of La Janda.
Is a Historic-Artistic and Cultural
The mountain on which it is located is called the Cerro del Castillo, which is the highest elevation of the entire western third of the province, from the foothills of the Sierra de Cadiz to the Atlantic coastline, allowing you to be spotted since an important part of the province, offering, at the same time, the extraordinary panorama of provincial surface. The city is oriented towards the Bay of Cadiz, which is why it is known as the Balcony of the Bay.
A small part of the municipality asidonense belongs to the Natural Park of the Acorns, one of the most valuable areas in terms of nature and landscape concerns in Andalusia. The term also hosts much of the route of the Green Corridor of the two bays, a greenway linking the Bay of Cadiz and Algeciras Bay.
The first settlements in the area of which we have evidence, dating from the Late Bronze Age. Found in the Cerro de las Madres a lot of fragments of handmade ceramics and some stone tools. It seems that these people were in relation to culture tartésica.5
Then takes place the arrival of Phoenician colonists from Sidon, which will found a city (with the same name as their city of origin) on the basis of earlier Indian occupation.
In the third century. C. Romans occupy the entire peninsula was formerly in the hands of the Carthaginians. Around the first century will build a new town center that will occupy the entire space of what is now the Historic. By Augusto César Award, the city promotes its former municipal status and becomes entitled Roman colony (civitas optimo jure). It was known by the name of Asido, Caesarina, or completely as Caesarina Asido Augusta. It was situated in the Province Ulterior Baetica, belonging to legal convent Hispalensis (with capital in Hispalis).
In the Visigoth Hispania was also provincial capital and episcopal see of the Catholic Church, then known as Asidona, suffragan of the Archdiocese of Seville which included the former Roman province of Andalusia in the diocese of Hispania.
In 712 the city was conquered by Musa ibn Nusair, commander of the Umayyad Caliphate, at the beginning of the Muslim conquest of the Iberian Peninsula. It was the capital of Muslim Cora Cora called Sidonia (also known as Arabic Saduna شذونة). Alfonso X the Wise recaptured the city on September 22, 1264, occupying the border against the Moorish Kingdom of Granada, which is why it appears in a medieval document with the name "de la Frontera".
At the time of the Reconquista was home to several military orders. These include the Order of Santiago and the Order of St. Mary.
In 1440 became part of the Lordship of the Dukes of Medina-Sidonia.

A beautiful scene from this charming place. A nice vertical composition where you use the trees and the narrow alley as a fine lead towards the bell tower. You managed the light very well. Lovely shot! TFS.
Best regards, Erling

J'aime beaucoup ce cadrage vertical qui est très avantageux pour cette petite ruelle étroite avec de très beaux arbres fruitiers au centre pour donner de l'ombre et pour sentir bon.

I like the way you've composed this scene using the vertical of the narrow street. Great work, have a fine evening.

This is a very nice-looking narrow street where the small trees have given your composition a fine depth. At the far side of the view the tall church-tower rises above the surrounding roofs. The contrasts were abviously very strong but you have handled them excellently and given the shady foreground a very smooth look. The narrow stret looks pleasant and the people standing at the far end increase the homely atmosphere with what looks as a bice chat.

haha...i like how the man or woman is blocked out by the tree on the left! it looks funny :)
but i also like how the vertical shot is composed with the tower neatly placed at the top, and the wall on the right is used as an anchor - that wall is important because it encloses the street and gives that feeling of being in the alleyway.

You chose a very nice angle, traditional but nevertheless the most beautiful.
Also the narrow street and the people end of the street make these picture attractive.
Excellent composition, nice captured, this is an splendid picture.
Very well done, TFS.
Have a nice weekend,

The vertical format was the right choice for this, my friend. It allows you to include the whole line of trees, with their sense of perspective and still include the top of the tower, in the b/g. The dof is perfect, giving sharp details of the f/g and a gentle blurring into the b/g, creating a good sense of depth.
Have a lovely w/e,

Sorry again for my late reaction weekday, so busy for many things.
Another tranqlized image via so thick and calm color touch in nice vertical format. Great composition and combination of fresh green trees with houseas at both sides are very impressive and comfortable to see. Timely posting at weekend!

Nicely composed image with effective use of lines of trees to create depth. The focal point of the group of people finishes the image off well by also providing a sense of scale. Have a good week!
eldancer1 (28529) 2013-08-04 9:05
It's very narrow street or alley and it looks like cars are not allowed with the trees in the middle. Nice to have the people at the end for scale. Good lighting and nice details. Well done, tfs.

It is a very good idea of the municipality of Medina Sidonia, to plant trees in even a small alley. Trees are very important for our health. Nice view through the alley to the church tower. Good light and shadow management. Well done

Another interesting shot from Cadiz. I like especially composition-trees in line.
Have a nice evening

I like very much this composition, perfectly adjusted to an interesting assortment of vertical elements. There's wonderful perspective and the bellfry stands out elegantly at the opening at the top of the frame. Your light management is exquiaite making viewing so smooth through the shady alley to the luminous background. You haven't lost the slightest detail and the trees stand out as 3D. It's funny how you rendered the presence of the passer by so discreet by "hiding" him behind the tree:) The colours and the atmosphere are very delightful. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

very good perspective here and light management in the shady parts of this narrow street. Pretty view too, I wouldn't mind having a walk there:)
