An Aeriel view looking down across the bay towards the Port and village of San Josť, Almeria. This shot was taken in early March on a bright but cool and still morning. The village is a very popular holiday destination but if you visit the coves and beaches of the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata from October through to May you will often be the only person there enjoying the spectacular golden hours.
HOW THE SHOT WAS TAKEN.
The camera was mounted on a rig and attached to a helium filled balloon which was then allowed to ascend to a height of 100m.I used a hand held remote control for the shutter release and "viewfinder" glasses linked to the AV out to see what the camera was looking at. I have also used this method on a number of other occasions in different areas of the Parque Natural and had some very nice results. These images are unique and unlikely to be repeated as this type of photography is now banned in the area.
This image was taken using a Nikon D70, lens set at 11mm and shot at 1/400th sec @ f10
