El término dehesa procede del castellano defensa, que hace referencia al terreno acotado al libre pastoreo de los ganados trashumantes mesteños que recorrían el suroeste español. Parece pues correcto aceptar, que la costumbre, ya de los romanos, de establecer latifundios en territorios marginales sea el verdadero origen de las dehesas, consideradas como superficies amplias controladas por un único propietario; también hay que tener en cuenta que es más fácil que se tale una dehesa dividida entre los pequeños propietarios que en el caso contrario.

Se llama dehesa a un prado arbolado de propiedad comunal (generalmente del municipio), destinado al mantenimiento del ganado y del que se pueden obtener otros productos forestales como caza, setas, leña, etcétera.

Resulta así un ecosistema derivado del bosque mediterráneo, constituido por especies arbóreas del género Quercus (encina, alcornoque) u otras especies como hayas o pinos y el estrato herbáceo para pacer.

Esta es una dehesa del norte de Extremadura, donde se suele ver por sus prados diferentes animales, como cerdos, vacas, toros, cabras y ovejas.

A nicely lit image of this charming rural landscape. It is well composed allowing the eyes to follow the line of trees into the far distance. There is some interesting shadow play to be observed and colour contrasts are excellent. Very good sharpness throughout.

Très belle vue avec ces arbres qui a apportent du graphisme et aussi de beaux jeux d'ombre. L'image set très profonde avec le beau bleu de l'eau qui ressort agréablement.

Les arbres sont taillés par le bétail à une hauteur uniforme. Les couleurs sont agréables sous cette lumière. La netteté et la profondeur sont remarquables. bravo.

Rural country, on the western part of Espanea, is not on tourists usual routes. so, this arial photo is giving a bit of added value to my knowledge about the country, here near the Portugal border.

Hola Charo,
mientras tu nota define perfectamente el término dehesa, esta foto lo hace gráficamente, con mucha solvencia.
Estas encinas que pueblan el prado verde y el pequeño estanque aportan un buen efecto estético a tu composición, en una imagen nítida y profunda, en la que sólo faltan los cerdos negros para dar un poco de vida (y de sabor si pensamos en sus jamones).
Los dos WS me gustan, sobre todo el del pajarito accidentado que sobrevivió gracias a vuestros cuidados.

Je ne connais pas une "Dehesa" mais la photo est très intéressante. Le boisé est superbe en plus du beau pâturage. et du plan d'eau pour abreuver les bêtes. Excellente prise de vue et beau contraste entre les verts et le bleu.
