Photographer’s Note

Across from the modern centre of Ronda (El Mercadillo) over the gorge and the Puente Nuevo bridge is the older part of town (La Ciudad) which has massive fortifications around it. This photo shows the walls along the eastern side and looks towards the white buildings of the newer parts of Ronda.
Amongst the green in the foreground and especially on the lower right hand parts are ancient ruins such as Moorish baths scattered about.

A nice composition , using the castle in the left to provide depth and contrast . Despite of the bad weather , the light managment is excellent .

Hello Ian,
This image is completely astonishing. Contrast is strong between the fortress and the greenery, and constructions whose color merges almost with that of the sky. It is very quite carried out, and of a good clearness. Cheer.

Splendid composition and POV. I like the contrast between the newer parts of the city and older parts. The white buildings really stand out against the greenery below. Impressive photo.
